RBTV is sincerely grateful for the opportunity to establish a new partnership with the Joyal Capital Management Foundation to make a truly life changing impact on young people. With the support of $100 for 100, a child will embark upon a momentous Seven Year Journey built on the pillars of Love, Peace, Patience and Humility.
The RBTV Mission
The mission of the Ron Burton Training Village is to enrich the lives of challenged youth in the areas of dynamic character and leadership development, physical fitness, social and educational advancement, and spiritual growth.
RBTV Making a Difference Through 5 Distinct Program Areas
Residential Program
From the time a young person begins the Seven Year Journey at approximately 11 years old, that child completes five weeks of intensive programming and training every summer at RBTV’s 305-acre campus in Hubbardston, Massachusetts. The residential program addresses personal care needs, nutritious meals, clothing, health and wellness.
Academics
During the five-week summer training, each participant will spend time in the classroom receiving tutorials in English and Math. ACT/SAT testing occurs during the summer and continues year-round through weekly online classes. RBTV also offers STEM programming in aviation where youth work with flight simulator technology.
Leadership & Character
“God first, others second, and me third”. They learn social skills and effective communication strategies, are trained to be strong, just leaders and to treat others with fairness, honesty and compassion.
Physical Fitness & Sports
They receive fitness training, receiving advice from professional athletes and sports clinicians. Summer wake-up is at 4:30am to complete the seven-mile run – which provides a metaphor for the struggles they may face and will overcome through hard work and determination.
Career Development
All RBTV participants receive significant assistance from our greater Boston corporate partners who provide personal career development mentors, internship placements, and ongoing support to each youth in pursuing a career.
